How can I pass urine more easily?

Difficulty starting your urine stream, or what is called urinary hesitancy, is a classic symptom for people that have muscles that are hypertonic or too tight and are having difficulty getting them to relax.  This symptom is often described as intermittent, meaning that at times the patient can urinate without problems.  While other problems such as a fallen bladder or a urethral diverticulum can cause this symptom those situations are persistent and not intermittent. The symptoms would be present each time you urinate. Treatment options include medications, physical therapy and at times even a small battery that provides stimulation to the nerves controlling the pelvic floor muscles.  This type of therapy is called sacral nerve neuromodulation and has provided wonderful results for patients since its discovery over 25 years ago.
