How do you treat chronic pain?

Every patient with chronic pain has a unique history that explains why they have pain.  For some patients it may start with a surgery that triggered pain that never resolved.  It might be a difficult vaginal delivery for women with chronic pelvic pain.  Pain often starts with this series of chronic pain inconveniences that start at a young age such as migraine headaches or severe menstrual cramps.  Often patients have dis-behaviors that start in childhood especially as it relates to problems like bladder infections, chronic constipation or repeated vaginal pain episodes that are often diagnosed incorrectly to be yeast infections.   These events that start in childhood markedly increases the risk for you having ongoing problems of pain in your adult life.
